* Though not Principal in 2014, the continued improvement was due in a substantial way to the culture, systems and practices embedded during 2007 – 2013.

Boyd oversaw an Art and Science of Teaching project at Maroochydore SHS in 2010 that successfully engaged all teachers in developing more effective teaching practices and the school leaders in developing their instructional leadership skills.

By 2011, all teachers participated in regular observation and feedback and all school leaders participated in regular instructional rounds under a tailor-made research-based pedagogical framework (My TEACH).  These practices were acknowledged as a state finalist in the 2014 Showcase Awards for Excellence.

"The school’s pedagogical framework, My TEACH, incorporating the Art and Science of Teaching (ASoT), provides a well-researched, evidence based model for pedagogy and provides a strong platform from which to drive practice.   "
